18 days ago, Bryce Harper signed a 13 year $330 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies that, at the time, stood as the largest overall contract in the history of American professional sports.

Today, reports are beginning to surface that Harper's record is about to be completely demolished.

According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the Los Angeles Angels and outfielder Mike Trout are close to an agreement on a contract extension that would pay the two-time AL MVP $430 million over 12 years.

You can read Passan's story here.

Trout would've become a free agent following the 2020 season.
