There's a lot going on around the State of Virginia, as well as the Nation's Capital these days.

Today, the news became official that Buzz Williams will be leaving the VT basketball program to take the job at Texas A&M.

Williams accumulated an overall record of 100-69 and a 44-46 record in the ACC over his 5 year span in Blacksburg. He turned Virginia Tech from a perennial last-place team in the ACC into a program that would go to 3 straight NCAA Tournaments. Buzz leaves the Hokies in a much better position than they were in before he got there.

That being said, Williams was actively pursuing the Oklahoma St. job after just one year with Virginia Tech in the Spring of 2016. Today's news is not the least bit surprising.

Virginia Tech Athletic Director Whit Babcock now has the difficult task of replacing Williams. Some names that are being linked to the Hokies' coaching vacancy are: Steve Wojchiechowski of Marquette, Mick Cronin of Cincinnati, Gregg Marshall of Wichita St. and Kevin Willard of Seton Hall.
