I’ve said it before and I will say it again after yesterday’s performance: Max Scherzer on the mound is the best ticket in baseball.

In 2019, where the ball is flying out of the ballpark at a record rate, if you were asking me to fork over my money to see one guy it’s Max.

Yesterday’s performance:

But its not just what he does on the mound. It’s what he does late on the mound when he gets to the 7th, 8th or 9th and he’s out there grunting and firing away, he’s emptying the tank. He is not finessing nor saving anything for later. You are going to get his best until he doesn’t have anything left to give.

He’s a fireball pitcher who approaches the game with the intenstity of a middle linebacker and it has to be appreciated.

What he’s done over the last 8 starts:

Even more recent, he has to be your NL Pitcher of the Month:right?!

6 starts: 6-0, 1.00 ERA, 68K, 5BB, 0.64 WHIP

add on to that---One broken nose. One black eye.
